Guys Games and Beer Gearing Up for MGC

The G2B team is gearing up for our favorite event of the year: The Midwest Gaming Classic! You won't see too much action on our Facebook site this week, but of course Episode 97 will post as usual on Thursday. But seriously folks, if you can get there you should head to Brookfield, WI this weekend and checkout the best that board, pinball, current and classic gaming have to offer. Come visit the G2B room where we will have no less than 3 Oculus Rifts you can try out, the Turbografx 16 show, an Ouya tournament, and our Flappy Birds Everywhere display showcasing that famous flying poultry on the Amiga, Vecrex, and the Atari 2600! We have way more to show as well so come on down and visit with Guys Games and Beer!

G2B Ep 91: Why Yes, We HAVE Played Atari Today

Back in our day folks really new how to play games. We didn't need no fancy triggers or d-pads or foolish unnecessary rows of buttons. Nope, we could save the universe with one button! You hear me sonny?? One freakin' shiny red button stood between us and oblivion! You wussy kids wouldn't stand a chance without your power-ups and smart bombs: Lord forbid you actually have to aim at something you want to hit!  No pausing the game either. We could play a game, or we could answer the freakin' door. You couldn't just hit the pause button and walk away for an hour to chat with your pink-sweater wearing, wine sipping rainbow pals! This ain't freaking tea-time, it's game time! Make a choice and stick with it! Play until the game is over or don't play at all.

Ahem.... that said... Join the Gutter Geeks as they relive the exciting (and not so exciting) games and systems of 70's to 80's era Atari. The guys reveal their best picks for the Atari 2600, 5200 and 7800 and demonstrate why use of Atari controllers caused permanent nerve damage and long-term psychological distress.

Of course there is the usual "What we've been playing" and "What have we learned" segments for you wuss-ass pink sweater wearing modern gamers as well.

Hop into your Delorian (Or blue police-box if you swing that way) and fire up the flux capacitor: It's time for episode 91 of Guys Games and Beer!
